Wow. How about that, not just a reunion.. but they're.. getting back together?
So according to TMZ, and People, after months of speculation and rumor, the Kids are coming back. A well-placed source tells PEOPLE exclusively that New Kids On The Block are indeed getting back together.
The band's Web site, www.nkotb.com, which had been dormant, is now back up and running in anticipation of the official announcement, which the source says will be made in the next few weeks.
The site currently features a television graphic with a fuzzy, flickering photos of NKOTB in their heyday, and a link inviting fans to sign up for info.
The boy band, which made legions of tweens swoon in the early '90s, selling more than 50 million albums, became a worldwide phenomenon before calling it quits in 1994.
Eighteen years later, they're still "Hangin' Tough." The oldest "Kid," Jonathan Knight, now a real estate developer, will turn 40 later this year. Since the band's demise, former members Donnie Wahlberg, 38, and Joey McIntyre, 35, have seen acting success, while Danny Wood, 38, has worked as a music producer and Knight's brother, Jordan, 37, has continued to record.
I'll believe it when I see it, but wow. I wouldn't say I'm excited so much as I am interested. I remember when I was really little, being completely obsessed with Joey McIntyre. I, along with every girl I knew, had the posters, the 10" buttons, the pillowcases and comforters, the shirts, the shoes, the trading cards... I don't know if there was a cereal but if there was, we ate it. Then one day I saw a music video where my pseudo boyfriend Joey was kissing a pretty girl, and my love for NKOTB was immediately over. I guess I learned the effects of jealousy early on.

How to save a wet cellphone & fix the "red dot of death"?
My life never ceases to give me things to write about, I swear. I guess you can probably determine why it is I need an answer for this one. And PS, if anyone has an old cingular phone with a SIM slot that i can have, give me a holler at: amander(at)thingsiask.com and we'll be BFF.
According to Yahoo! Answers, and About.com, this is what one should do.. luckily I was smart enough to know the basics (aka take out the battery and don't turn it on) before looking it up:
- Take out the cellphone as soon as quickly as possible
- Remove the battery
- Shake it, shake it like a polaroid picture.. c'mon shake it, shake, shake it..
- Absorb excess water with something dry like a paper towel. Keep at it until the paper towels are no longer wet.
- If there's water inside the display, press on it to get it out, then absorb w/ paper towel.
- Put the cellphone and battery out to dry near a sunny window or something, but not somewhere dumb like the oven or a radiator.
- Let it dry for 24-72 hours. (You can probably determine this by how much water you needed to shake out). If water is still coming out, don't turn it back on.
- Get a tiny screwdriver and take the cellphone apart, then wipe down the components with rubbing alcohol (they'll dry faster and it won't damage the phone).
- If the phone was already submerged in water, you can literally submerge it in alcohol without any extra negative effects, just quicker drying
- If your cellphone was off when it happened, it's much more likely to survive
- If it fell in saltwater, rinse it in fresh water first (aka you're probably screwed unless you've got a bottle of poland spring around).

Unless you want to try the advice of some water-damage hackers:
"What most people don’t realize is that the warranty usually covers theft and loss. Get your phone wet? Lose it in a gutter, trash bin, Leave it at a bar, give it to a homeless guy, etc. now they have to replace it." - Isaac
"I recently got screwed by this because there’s a red dot/bar on both my battery and my cell phone. I merely traded my battery for my wife’s and peeled off her Red dot which is a piece of cloth/sticker and pasted it with a little super glue in place of my red dot which I had promptly removed. Worked like a charm." - Josh
"Place a piece of satin finish scotch tape over your water damage sticker to prevent the water damage sticker from voiding your warranty. This sticker can usually be found under your battery. It's a small round white sticker, possibly with dots on it. If this sticker gets wet it changes color and your phone is marked for water damage. Remove the tape if you need to ever bring your cellphone in for repairs." - MobileMistress
"I've had white dots go red. What did I do, I removed the dot. Techs shot me down. So I bought a new battery(which comes with its own new white dot), did a swap put on my phone, and tada replacement phone. Now what I did was not wrong it's my dot and I'll do what I want with it(theres people on ebay who will sell you an entire reel of unpunched limus paper for cheap dollars). Now if a tech would do a half decent job and open up the phone like back in the day, they would probably find that my phones problem was, the effect of verizon screwing with the software and the UI of my phone. But they would never admit that. Just keep telling poeple to *228 send and update your phone(cough CRIPPLE your phone+add banners)." - Jason

Why do some egg yolks turn green?
Generally the wierd green ring that forms on overcooked eggs reminds you of belly-button cheese is normal for things like, Egg McMuffins and your grandma's deviled eggs.. But WHY man, WHY? Is it cool to eat?
According to AskMrBreakfast.com:
A greenish grey film will form on the surface of the yolk when the temperature of the yolk exceeds 158 degrees Fahrenheit. This discoloration is not unhealthful. It's just a visual indicator of a natural chemical reaction... hydrogen sulphide from amino acids in the white of your egg (or albumen) is reacting with iron from the yolk which causes a film of ferrous sulphide to form on the yolk's surface. If the film is thin, your egg will still taste fine.

Can you overdose on Dramamine?
This is THE question of the weekend!
On Friday, I took a flight to and from Nantucket, MA on a tiny 9-seater plane. I also consumed about 5 Dramamines in 6 hours. Driving home, I got super dizzy and pulled over. When I woke up on the side of the road, I couldn't feel a thing and was slurring like a drunkard. So.. I'd like to learn a little more.
According to Drugs.com, a Dimenhydrinate overdose causes: Rapid heartbeat (mine was 103, medicine.net says the normal resting adult heart beats regularly at an average rate of 60 times per minute), Drowsiness (duh), Nervousness(yes), Hallucinations (not so much), Disorientation (for sure), Delirium (god, yes), Unsteadiness, Seizures, Convulsions, etc.

Luckily for me, a nice police man pulled over to help me out (aka check to see how drunk I was), and called an ambulance. I didn't need to go much further, I even checked myself out of the ER early, but here's what comes afterwards (according to drugs.com):
What to Expect at the Emergency Room
The health care provider will measure and monitor the patient's vital signs, including temperature, pulse, breathing rate, and blood pressure.
The patient may receive:
- Medicines to treat symptoms
- Medicines to make the person throw up
- Activated charcoal
- A nasogastric (NG) tube thru the nose into the stomach to empty the stomach (gastric lavage)
Outlook (Prognosis)
If the patient survives the first 24 hours, a good recovery is likely. Few patients actually die from an antihistamine overdose.
According to revolutionhealth.com, when taking Dramamine, use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Dimenhydrinate may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. If you experience dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision, avoid these activities. Do not take with alcohol. Do not take more than 400mg in one day. Each tablet is usually 50 mg. (I only took 5, but it was within about 6 hours.. geesh, only just thought of the timing now..)CHEERS to following directions from now on!
