What is Serj Tankian's Middle Name?

Well, the results are in, and HE DOESN'T HAVE ONE. In fact many people from those parts don't have one.

So in order to make this less boring, here's a little known fact: Before System of a Down, Serj was the CEO of a software company.

Wow, totally worth it, right?

Who is in Kelly Clarkson's Family?

Who knows why I want to know this, except that it's really had to find pictures of any of them. You would have thought that they'd have some snapshots of her parents jumping in joy when she got the gold ticket to Hollywood in American Idol Season 1, but I guess not.

The Kelly Clarkson Family:

  • Third and youngest child of Jeanne Ann Rose, a first grade teacher who is of Irish and Greek descent
  • and Stephen Michael Clarkson, a former engineer who is of Welsh descent
  • Clarkson's siblings include her brother Jason, and her sister Alyssa.

Do Celebrities Pick Their Noses?

I thought I'd do this one for fun, after seeing a slew of nose-pickers on TMZ.com. A lot of them on the site were just merely scratching, so I picked out the real gold-diggers.

Did you know you can also DIE from picking your nose? "The deadly threat of nose picking comes from the fact that the vein that takes blood away from your nose connects with ones that also drain your brain. So if you pick too vigorously, you could break skin and expose your system to the germs on your finger. Those germs could then cause an infection, which might spread through the blood vessels and clog up the vein that drains your brain. As a result, your brain could fill up like a water balloon and you could die." [source]

And according to a new survey by Response Insurance, 17 percent of Americans admit they've nearly caused an automobile accident while picking their nose while behind the wheel. [source]

Anyhow, here are the celebrities that risk their lives to get the goods:

Mischa Barton:

Nicky Hilton:
Pam Anderson:
Halle Berry:
Ethan Hawke:
Sting:
Michael Keaton:
Kelly Brook:
Jake Gyllenhaal :

Geoffrey Rush:

Manny Ramirez:

Looks like celebrities are human after all :)

Who is Mark Welling?

The little brother of super-stud Tom Welling (aka Clark Kent from the show Smallville) bears very little resemblance, in every way, to his brother.

  • He was in the 2006 movie, Wrestling as Jake Conner (bad acting galore)

  • He was in the lesser known movie Circling Serita in Lake Lure NC (stab-me-in-the-face type of bad)

  • His birth name is Mark Louis Welling

  • He is the younger brother of Tom Welling from Smallville (no resemblance)

  • He was born on Valentines day in 1980, in Janesville Wisconsin

  • He graduated from Okemos High School in 1998.

  • He graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree with Biomechanical Concentration from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan.

  • He Worked as a Mechanical Engineer in Pontiac, Michigan

  • Born on Valentine's Day
Sources: IMDB, MarkWelling.com, and many many comments on his brothers' fan sites.

Here is a clip from his movie Wrestling:

Sarah Silverman is f***ing Matt Damon?

I recently read something about a birthday present that Sarah Silverman gave to Jimmy Kimmel on his late night show, but I hadn't seen it yet. I'm not a fan of Sarah Silverman, but I looked it up anyhow after Jimmy Kimmel said "I hope they're happy together. It's actually pretty funny:

Who is Britneys therapist?

I don't really care about this all that much, but it seems like she's gone through an awful lot of psychiatrists lately..But maybe that's because they're not really her therapists, just doctors looking for their 15 minutes of fame. Or Dr. Phil just looking for some publicity.

The recent news (via TMZ) is that the new therapist treating Britney Spears is -- thankfully -- being praised by her colleagues for her compassion and her credentials.

Dr. Deborah Nadel is "an excellent clinician and an excellent psychiatrist," says Harold Young, Clinical Director at the Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, to People.

Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Nadel graduated from University of California Medical School in San Francisco 18 years ago, and she did her residency at UCLA, records show.

But every head shrinker in America feels the need to "diagnose" Britney, and according to to AP, you wouldn't think a pop culture diva like Britney Spears would exactly fit into the usual fare on discussion at the annual winter conference of the American Psychoanalytic Association.

But last week, on the sidelines of the gathering of hundreds of analysts from around the country, the topic did indeed arise - specifically those armchair diagnoses of the troubled starlet's mental health, popping up in celebrity magazines and tabloids everywhere.

Who's therap-ized her in the press lately:

Dr. Phil (McGraw)
Dr. Gail Saltz, a New York psychoanalyst and psychiatrist
Mark Smaller, a psychoanalyst from Chicago
Dr. Susan Jaffe, a psychiatrist and analyst in New York
Dr. Diana Kirschner a New York City psychologist
Dr. Mark Goulston, a Santa Monica psychiatrist
Dr. Stacy Kaiser, an L.A.-based psychotherapist
Dr. Janet Taylor, a Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at Columbia University-Harlem Hospital

That's a lot of "doctors" speaking for someone they haven't even met, isn't it?

Is Hannah Montana a whooooooore??

I'm covering this nonsense because I'm a complete web traffic slut, but from the looks of it, Miley and I have a little something in common!

Miley Cyrus is the little lady who plays both Hannah Montana and Miley Stewart on the Disney show Hannah Montana. Miley Cyrus is the daughter of country singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus, and up until today, I thought was only like 9.

But, what's up with the bikini pictures? Ok, so she's 15, I guess if myspace existed when I was 15 I probably would have made a few classic mistakes.. but all I needed to google was "Miley Ray Cyrus bikini pictures" and there they were.

I'm a girl so I don't need to feel dirty, but if you googled the same thing and you're a guy.. shame on you! I feel like this is a porno post.

Britney must be her hero, ya'll.

This last one gave me a little acid reflux. There's also a little three girls, one tub action going on in one.

One more question.. how is is that every celebrity has the WORST digital camera? Is it because because they have no idea what this new fangled technology is, or they just don't care? We know it's not because they can't afford it.

EW. EW. EW. Though I know someone out there has a Hannah Montana birthday countdown till 18.. I couldn't find it.. but I'm sure it exists somewhere, just like the Olsen twins, and just like Avril Lavigne.

Are New Kids on the Block getting back together?

Wow. How about that, not just a reunion.. but they're.. getting back together?

So according to TMZ, and People, after months of speculation and rumor, the Kids are coming back. A well-placed source tells PEOPLE exclusively that New Kids On The Block are indeed getting back together.

The band's Web site, www.nkotb.com, which had been dormant, is now back up and running in anticipation of the official announcement, which the source says will be made in the next few weeks.

The site currently features a television graphic with a fuzzy, flickering photos of NKOTB in their heyday, and a link inviting fans to sign up for info.

The boy band, which made legions of tweens swoon in the early '90s, selling more than 50 million albums, became a worldwide phenomenon before calling it quits in 1994.

Eighteen years later, they're still "Hangin' Tough." The oldest "Kid," Jonathan Knight, now a real estate developer, will turn 40 later this year. Since the band's demise, former members Donnie Wahlberg, 38, and Joey McIntyre, 35, have seen acting success, while Danny Wood, 38, has worked as a music producer and Knight's brother, Jordan, 37, has continued to record.

I'll believe it when I see it, but wow. I wouldn't say I'm excited so much as I am interested. I remember when I was really little, being completely obsessed with Joey McIntyre. I, along with every girl I knew, had the posters, the 10" buttons, the pillowcases and comforters, the shirts, the shoes, the trading cards... I don't know if there was a cereal but if there was, we ate it. Then one day I saw a music video where my pseudo boyfriend Joey was kissing a pretty girl, and my love for NKOTB was immediately over. I guess I learned the effects of jealousy early on.

Who the f*** is Pete Doherty??

I'm always hearing about this shitbag on TMZ.com amongst all the other celebrity trash blogs. Oh PD did this, PD did that... I guess I never felt the need to look it up until now and I'm amazed at how Paris-esque (aka make an ass out of myself for money) he is.

Pete Doherty:

  • is an english musician, writer and poet
  • is the lead singer the band Babyshambles.. who?
  • formerly formed the band The Libertines
  • did a bunch of other random collaborations of music
  • on May 10, 2006 was voted #2 in the UK's New Musical Express poll depicting 50 of rock's greatest heroes
  • is the current face of Roberto Cavalli's Fall 2007/2008 fashion advertising campaign

Why he's famous:

  • He went out with Kate Moss
  • He has a well documented drug history
  • He's been in and out of rehab (whoa, real original there Pete)
  • He recently lit a photog on fire
  • A few other boring things
Shit man, if that's all it takes to be famous these days, sign me up! Can someone please tell me what I missed, and why this guy is soooo freaking interesting? Did i miss a cult phenomenon somewhere along the way?And feel free to go all OMG HEZ SOOO HAWT AND LYKE WIKKED TALENTED on my ass.

If you feel so inclined to listen to what a train-wreck in slow motion sounds like, check out some songs on myspace here.

Why did Mary-Kate Olsen kill Heath Ledger?

**Updates at the bottom***

This is a really bad month for all of my adolescent heart-throbs.

According to Wikipedia:

According to the New York City Police Department, Ledger was found dead at an apartment, owned by Mary-Kate Olsen, in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan on January 22, 2008. He was found face down in the nude with pills near his body, and police report that they have no reason at this stage to suspect foul play.

According to The New York Post:

The housekeeper let in a massaeuse who tried to wake Ledger, and found him unresponsive at 3:20 p.m. The massaeuse then noticed sleeping pills strewn around his room and called paramedics at 3:26 p.m.

The father of one was pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m.

Paramedics told TMZ that when paramedics responded, the actor was in full cardiac arrest. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead

Damn you Mary-Kate.

Update: Ok, so it turns out now that they've confirmed it was NOT mk's apartment, but I think I'll still blame her for a little while.

Also according to TMZ, Heath Ledger recently gave an interview to WJW FOX in Cleveland where he said, "I feel good about dying because I feel alive through her." He was talking about his young daughter Matilda. Watch the video here.

According to Yahoo's OMG!:

Ledger was born in 1979 in Perth, in western Australia, to a mining engineer and a French teacher, and got his first acting role playing Peter Pan at age 10 at a local theater company. He began acting in independent films as a 16-year-old in Sydney and played a cyclist hoping to land a spot on an Olympic team in a 1996 television show, "Seat."

Ledger most recently appeared in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan ƒƒ‚‚ as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

Ledger had finished filming his role as the Joker this year in "The Dark Knight," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins."

Warner Bros. ("The Dark Knight") released this statement: "The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."

Also according to TMZ, this is the last known photograph of Heath:

*Update January 24, 2008: According to E! Online, Heath's Masseuse called Mary Kate three times before even calling 911:

Knowing that Ledger and Olsen (a fellow client) were friends, Wolozin used the Brokeback Mountain star's cell phone to call the 21-year-old actress in California at 3:17 p.m. The call lasted 49 seconds, per NYPD records.

Another call made to Olsen at 3:20 p.m. lasted one minute and 39 seconds. A third call, lasting only 21 seconds, was placed at 3:24 p.m.

At some point during those three calls, Olsen told Wolozin that she was going to call a personal private security contact to assist with the situation.

Wolozin called 911 at 3:26 p.m., nine minutes after her first call to Olsen.

Three of Olsen's security guards eventually arrived at Ledger's SoHo residence at 3:33 p.m.—the same time as paramedics—and actually rode up on the elevator with the emergency crew.

However, paramedics refused to allow the trio into the apartment, where Ledger had lived for about five months.

Wolozin called Olsen one last time, at 3:34 p.m., presumably to bring her up to speed.

Update January 25, 2008: Mary-Kate's certainly un-heartwarming comments on the death of Heath Ledger were, "Heath was a friend. His death s a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time". Original, right?

Brad Renfro dies at 25????? From drugs & alcohol????

Oh my gosh, there is no-one that i heart more than Brad Renfro.... except for maybe a half dozen other celebs.. but back to Renfro... I'm so sad :(

From PinkIsTheNewBlog and People.com:

In extremely sad news, movie actor Brad Renfro was found dead at a friend's apartment yesterday morning after he spent the previous night hanging out with friends. It has not been determined what the cause of death was but, sadly, Brad has had a bad history with substance abuse ... he was only 25 years old:

Renfro died Tuesday at a Los Angeles apartment where he spent the night with friends, Craig Harvey, chief investigator for the Los Angeles county coroner, tells PEOPLE. Renfro was heard snoring overnight, but found not breathing later Tuesday morning, and the friends called 911. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene at about 9 a.m., Harvey says. A cause of death was not immediately determined, but Renfro had a history of drug problems. Drug overdose is a "possibility considering his history, but right now all we have is the history of his drinking the previous night," Harvey says. "All that we have is that he was last known to be alive during the morning hours and he was snoring." he actor, who starred in The Client and Apt Pupil, had recently completed a movie with Winona Ryder and Billy Bob Thornton.

Renfro's friend and former lawyer Blair Burke reveals that she was very saddened to learn of his early passing, saying that she feels as if she "failed" him:

Former Renfro defense attorney Blair Berk, who routinely represents celebs battling substance abuse (including Lindsay Lohan and Mel Gibson), tells PEOPLE that there's something particularly tragic and disturbing about the talented actor's death at such a young age. "As critical and prescient as you become in this town, all I did was cry when I heard the news," Berk says. "I feel in some respects like we all failed." Renfro, 25, was drinking Monday night, according to roommates who discovered his dead body Tuesday morning and made the 911 call. Coroner's office Lt. Cheryl MacWillie says the autopsy will be done on Thursday, but toxicology results normally take several weeks.
